HI,

I go as Auntbea, but you can call me Ann, I was just diagnosed with Sjorgren's in January.. After years of testing,, finally my Des, Crp and SSA AND SSB popped up positive....

OMG I am soooo itchy I can't stand it... I think maybe it is due to some wartlike things I had removed the other day.. maybe kicked off an itch flare... Benadryl and visteral not working.... I can't stand to be awake...

Warm regards
Ann

Hi Ann

Good to meet you.  Where does the name 'Aunt Bea' come from?

Tell us about your symptoms and your journey to a SjS diagnosis.  We've all arrived here by such different routes that it's always interesting to hear each person's story.

Is the itching something new or have you had it for a while?  Do you find tepid bathing helps?  Or calamine lotion?

Hope you get a good night's sleep tonight.

Take care - Chickpea

Hi Ann  :)

Welcome to Sjogren's world.  :)

Sorry about the itching! It would be worth mentioning it to your GP as itching can sometimes indicate a problem with the liver. Of course - it can be lots of other things too!

I hope you find the site useful.

Take care - Scottie  :)

;D   Hi Welcome !!! I am a relative newcomer as well but lots of good info here. Itching can be from so many things- did you try oatmeal baths? Any new meds? A definite to talk to your doc... Good luck and hope we hear from you again with an update.

gsmraxe

Welcome!

I used to love watching the andy griffith show when I was a kid.   ;D  Aunt Bea was my favorite character...she seemed to have the most sense of all of them :D

Hi Auntbea/Ann,

gsmraxe took the words right out of my mouth!!  I loved to watch Aunt Bea too!!!

Welcome to Sjogren's World.  We hope that you will feel just as "at home" here as you would around the kitchen table with Andy and Oopie.  :)

Itching can drive one nuts!!  I've found that oatmeal helps with the itching for my son.  I'm surprised that the Benadryl didn't help you.

Hopefully, you can get some relief real soon, if you haven't already.

Again, welcome . . . there's lots to read here, you could be here for weeks just reading!!  LOL  :)

Welcome to the reluctant members club of Sjogrens.  I am fairly new too having been diagnosed in March 2009.
I've had "odd"  bloodwork for years and finally an immunologist thought to do a test for SJS and I tested very high antibodies A & B.  They take soooo long to diagnose SJS. Mine took 6+ years.

I have some itchiness but have dry skin and using a moisturizer and humidifier has helped a lot with that. That might help you.
