hi there

does anyone else experience this.  Since being diagnosed i have suffered with body pain.  The only way i can describe it is a travelling pain around my body.  Sometimes my stomach, my leg then my arm then under my rib etc.  Its like a shooting pain and sometimes like somone has pushed me hard with a sharp finger.  Other times its feels like a tingling nerve pain again shooting.  Im a bit concerned about this and i did mention it to the rhuemie but he didnt comment as we had other issues to deal with at the time and i didnt go back to it at the end of the consultation.  Any ideas??

thanks annie

Hi babycakes... your post sounds a lot like what I wrote about the other day...
I'm thinking about calling a Neuro to find out if its neurological.  Does this sound similar to you?

Hey everyone!  I have a symptom that is weird.  Even my rheumy gave me a puzzled look.

About 4 times a week, around 4:00 or 4:30 in the AM (a little bit before I need to get up for work), I wake up in pain.  Its not pain in a certain location and its not really in my joints.  It's more like sudden sharp pains that "travel" around my body in no particular pattern.  It's like shocks, but not shock-like (does that make sense?)  The pain really feels like it come from my bones and it really hurts or maybe just in the tissues.  It usually will last about an hour so I lay there or get up and move around as I can't seem to stay still during these episodes and not to disturb my husband.

Help please, I don't know how much more I can take  :'(

I've also experienced the traveling aches and pains.  My Rheumy just put me on Cymbalta, which is used to treat Fibromyalgia as well as depression.  It seems to help.

I have experienced this as well, it feels as if lightning is shooting through parts of the body, which travels long distances. Typically, I found it to be associated with Lymph Nodes (usually where the pain would "reach"), or the Spleen (left side under the rib cage).
Does this sound like your symptoms, or is yours different?

I have these types of pains.  Some days my leg feels like I was kicked by a horse and the next day it could be my arm, chest, back, or any where else.  I've had days that I feel like I was hit with a wrecking ball.  I do have fibromyalgia and this is common with it.  My Rheumy said that FM and SjS go hand in hand.  I'm so happy they get along so well! lol  :-\

I have tingling sensations like my leg is going to sleep and I also get electrical feeling in my joints.  Every day seems to be one sort of abnormality with my joints.

I used to take Lyrica for this and it helped at first but then it stopped working for me.  When I get real achy, I have a tens unit which makes my brain center on it instead of my aches and pains.  It's a BIG relief.  I also use Lidoderm patches for pain, flexeril and celebrex.

Hope you get to feeling better!

I get the same exact feelings.  I usually explain it as electricity travelling around my body with an occasional stab from a steak knife..LOL!  Mine is worse in the morning.  I am only diagnosed with primary sjogren's at this point.

hi all

many thanks for your kind replies, i am interested to read that you all seem to get varying degrees of what i get.  Mine range from shooting pains, to stitch like shooting pains (if that makes senses) to stinging nervey type ones, they are all over my body but i do get alot under my ribs and arms and sometimes in my toes and legs.  Basically all over really.  Ive mentioned them to my rhuemie but he doesnt seem overly bothered and said if it is unbearable he would give me some medication and i am trying to limit what i take at the moment.  I didnt think of FM?  does this cause this type of pain.  Other wise i guess it could be something nerve related???
thanks babycakes
