I havn't looked at the forum for a few weeks and the general subject categorisation seem to have disappeared. Have they been removed?

I am also wondering about the different categories - i.e. mouth, eyes, etc., which were usually listed separately.  I keep trying to find this, but so far no luck.  Nanny Annie

Hi  :)

You're right. The categorisations have been removed. The board had to be slimmed down for administrative purposes. A lot can be found using the search box though.

Take care - Scottie  :)

I miss the old way.  It was nice to see what was posted by just browsing around in different catagories.  I don't always have a specific subject to "search" for.   How about a poll to see how everyone feels about the new site?

Hello Desertnose, welcome to Sjogren's World, I'm glad you've decided, after browsing for a while, to join us and start posting.

The topic categories have, indeed, gone, but the subjects they cover can be found in the general discussion by using the search function Scottie mentioned.

A couple of other ways to keep up are to use the "most recent posts" section at the bottom of the home page, checking posts from specific members by going to their profile and clicking "show the last posts of this person", clicking on "show new replies to your posts" or "show unread posts since your last visit" both at the top of the home page.

It may also help if new topics were titled very specifically in future...things like "using (drug name) to treat (specific issue)" or "(specific symptom) who has it, what works, is it part of SjS?"

Linda, I really like your suggestion about using specific titles for posts so people can decide if it's of interest to them.  Otherwise, the new forum is just fine with me.

Hi Desertnose and welcome to the new boards at Sjogrens World!

I hope you are able to find what you need....as the others have said, you can use the search function at the top of the page if you are looking for something in particular...I prefer to always go to the "show unread posts since last visit". This will show all new posts since you were last on...its helpful for me!

I also like Linda's suggestion about being more specific with the titles of new topics...that way people can find things much easier. Its definitely a change, but we have changed before and will probably change again in the future...change is good (or so they tell me...lol)!

Hi I miss the subject titles I am lost on the new way everything is bunched in to one.

When I click on that, it always shows I have no unread posts. Then I click on "click here to show ALL unread topics" I get a page of today's posts. Am I doing something wrong? I log in each time I come to Sjogren's World, but it always says I've been logged in for something like 2 days or 4 days, etc. My other computer doesn't do this error.

calli, You shouldn't have to log in every time you visit the site. I never log in or out but my computer knows I am logged in. Every so often it must need an update or need to be reminded and I will have to enter my password again. I think I maybe have to enter my password about once every 2-3 months.

I don't know anything else about it. I do know that I like the general discussion the way it is because I can go to one section and just keep scanning through til I am done. The other way I always had to go back to the right topic. Many times I would spend a lot of time trying to remember where I had read something or posted and even doing a search confused me big time. To me it is easier this way. Irish ;D

At first I didn't think I liked this new way, but after going back and doing like some said, I now feel like irish. One question though. When we post something new, do we just go to Discussion Board and do it there?

I am SO disappointed that you removed the categories.  They made so much sense.
