No Rheumatic Fever, but lot's of Tonsilitis, they were evntually removed.  Like Kathy, my mother had valve trouble,

Probably, it is purely down to the "Genes" we inherit that cause it...  I have Autism, Excema, Endometriosis, with Hives in my immediate family!
If I could  only meet the ancestor who set all of this off!!!     GRRR Dolly.

HLin NY......thanks for the welcome...truly appreciated.....how do you know if you have a lymphoma and how is it treated?
This whole sjogrens is a lot to handle and I am still in the hopeful stage of not having this but my ANA came back slightly elevated and my SSA was borderline...we are waiting on the lip biopsy which I have a gut feeling will be positive.  Thanks for the kind words.....

I did have rheumatic fever when I was 10 years old. Spent 2 weeks in the hospital and 3 months home in bed (my entire summer) I have a slight issue with MVP but other than that I am very fortunate with no serious heart damage.

It was so long ago I have always assumed it is not related to any of my current health problems. But then again I never thought I would have something like sjogrens either!!

Has anyone heard of any studies being done to see if there is a link??

I've not had rheumatic fever.  However, had dengue fever when 6 yrs old which landed me in hospital for a few days.  Drs are emphatic that it is not connected to SS in any way, but sometimes I wonder.  Was in hospital for my 6th birthday.  Still remember the special BD card I received from the nurses, a monkey popped out on a spring.  Nope, I wouldn't eat my pumpkin, put it under my bed until the nurses persuaded me that I'd get better & go home if I ate my it.  Had to eat everything at home, but obviously thought I may get away with it in hospital sick.
