Well I had my  visit with new Rheumy Dr yesterday and it went well so far... He was a very pleasant Dr.... He did lots of blood work and even did xrays of my low back and hips which I have been complaining about for almost a year and my old Rheumy  said that it was the fibro and not RA causing the pain but never took an xray to see what was going on.  I was impressed so far.  He didn't tell me to make another appointment even instead he will call me with the results plus send a paper explaining what he told me on the phone.... then I can make another appointment if he thinks I should have one....but I can call his office if I have an questions or feel I need to see him sooner.   He also said he was going to test me for the weight lost too (55 lbs in a year - not dieting)... he thinks it should be checked out.

Well when I got home from that appointment my GP had called and said that some of the blood work that he did for diabete check showed that I am very low on Vitamin B12 so now I need B12 shots.... 1 a week for 4 weeks then 1 a month for 5 months and they see if that works or if I need them longer....

I went to opthologist today... I was dx with glaucoma for about 5 years but now that I went off of Prednisone and with the new updated machine he had to look into my eyes... he now tells me that my condition is only pre - glaucoma....Plus the pressure in my eyes is a lot lower too since I am off the prednisone.   Now that felt good and I don't need any eye drops any longer.... GREAT  He said my eyes haven't changed in the last 2 years that was good news too.... but when I brought up the dizziness and double vision and burred vision.... He looked at me and did some more looking at my eyes and told me there is nothing wrong with my eyes but that he would suggest that I have a MRI.  Now he could of left that out of this visit all together.... then he said I will fax your GP and let him know your eyes are fine and that he should check for MS.  Then he ask if anyone else in my family had MS and I told him my sister does...then of course he said that is all the more reason to have the MRI.

So now I have to wait for the tests from the Rheumy and the MRI from GP ....

Gosh I am back to my social life again..... VISITING DOCTORS!!!!!!!!!

Hi Carrottop  :)

I agree - visiting docs can take up way too much time!! They certainly feature prominently in our diaries!

Your new rheumy sounds good. He sounds thorough and I like the way he's going to give you a chance to look at stuff before another appointment. Means you can get your questions ready!

Good news about the pre-glaucoma too.

SjS is a really good MS mimic in a lot of cases. When will you have the MRI? I hope its soon and the results not too far off. I know its like being in limbo land without results. Mind jumps to all sorts of conclusions. Once you know what you're dealing with - well that's what you do - deal with it!

Keep us posted.

Take care - Scottie  :)
