Hi.  I used to be an avid runner (20 milers), now I struggle through 4 miles with several walking breaks.  I know I shouldn't complain because many of you have a hard time just getting out of bed in the morning.  I feel like I'm trying to run through wet concrete.  I have only been ill for the past several months.  Anybody else out there who is a runner, or cyclist, and would be willing to share your story?  I feel guilty for complaining, but I feel so alone, too :(

Hi Babs,

I'm not a runner or a cyclist, but I know some people who are...does that count?? (lol...kidding)

I just want to say don't ever feel guilty for coming here to vent...its good for the soul.....and no you are not alone...especially when you are here with all of us!  :)

never aplogise for feelings , when you do you apologise for the truth.

I used to do 8K run for local hospice, and did the breast cancer race for life as well , used to go alot of walking in the summer, now a 3 mile walk to my sons school and back and im washed out on sofa for 30 minutes till i get a rest , you feel a lose a lose of something that brought you great joy, and you are going to grieve about it, yes there are those us us here that find getting out of bed a problem, but in their earlier stages they went through this stage, and no one is going to say  well im worse than you, i mean we get enough of that rubbish for non sjoggies .

It good you posted, remeber you might see something as moaning, when that day someone read what you said and took hope in not being alone, what seems bad can be good from a different angle, we all have things we miss , i miss being able to go for days on endless energy , when i think of the energy ive wasted over the years not knowing, least now we do know, and we have the chance to make what ever energy we have count, dont feel guilty, just share

Hello!  I  was recently diagnosed about two and 1/2 weeks ago.  I'm an outdoors girl, hike, cycle, and play a lot of smash ball during the summer, lift  weights twice a week and hop on my treadmill if  the weather is bad.

Well I have not had the energy to do anything but work, come home, and go to bed for the past three months.  When I found out that I have sjogrens 2 weeks ago, My energy level became worse.  Don't know when I will get back on track but I'm kinda overeating and gaining some weight.

Hopefully I will find a way to muster up the energy to start working out again.  It really helped my stress level as well as keep me mentally balanced.  Since I haven't been working out, my brain fog is so bad, I've gained weight and I've become somewhat depressed.

Back in December my sister arranged for us to go rock climbing at this cool place.  I was so excited until I came down with a bad cold that I still have to this day.  Rock climbing will be put on hold.  I'm thinking maybe I'll try to walk the park after work for a short distance and see how I fair.

Keep me posted on your end!

Your at a good place here!  Take care

Before I got hit with this,, I used to walk at lunch time,, never ran, but walked fast,, then I started to notice the pain in the legs, not the usual pain of just working out,, but hat pain that wont let up,, then the tingling started and the numbness,,
Like the above wrote,, sometimes I;m on my hands and knees to get up the steps,, I;ve been off work since November, firghitng infections, and praying that they get it under control,, spring is comeing and i want to get out and walk again,,
