Well,
It's been a long time.  As most of you know I've recently moved from a house we'd lived in for 25 years.  We downsized.  Then we had to ready a large well-lived in house to sell.  I have to tell you the past 2 (more or less) months have been the month from @*@!  The hard physical work, lack of sleep, terrible diet combined threw me into the worse flare I have had in a long long time.  I now have no use of right little finger.  The Rheumatoid and all the scrubbing, lifting etc. got together and decided to eat my little finger joints.

Typing is really hard now since I've had the little finger joint on the other hand replaced years ago and they messed it up.  I'm also leaning to one side now.  Not sure if it's my spine or if it's muscles in a bad spasm.  I've only slept in my bed 3 nights in 2 months.  Can't straighten out.

So was this move worth it?  No.  And the market is terrible for selling our house.  We both agree we wouldn't do it again knowing how badly it affected me healthwise.  So if any of you are thinking of doing the same thing,.....please think long and hard about it.  True, there is a lot less for our kids to have to clean out when they move us on.  But I'm not sure they appreciate it now.

So I'll be reading as I can and trying to catch up with all the newbies.

Welcome back, Billye.  We've missed you.  I tried to make this post fancy twice and screwed it up so it's just a plain old one.  Kind of like me.  Anyhow, we're happy to see you again.  Lucy

Welcome back Billye, sorry you messed yourself up moving.  Now you should rest and recover and maybe find something less strenuous.  Knowing you, you most certainly have something up your sleeve for the holidays.  Why not let your kids do the dinner and clean up? Or better still, go out to dinner, no cooking or clean up. ;D

Take care dear, and it really is good to see you back.

Hugs, Pooh

Welcome back Billye! I'm glad to see you back with the move behind you although I'm sorry that you feel so badly! Take your time to settle in the rest of the way, rest your body and mind as much as you can, and we will see you as you feel up to it!

Oh Billye, I am so glad to see that you are back. But, I feel badly that your health took such a blow. We all know that stress is hard on us, but it is so hard to know what to do at times.

Hope and pray that you will continue to heal and rest and get some "zip" back. The dreaded health issues and moving to supposedly easier living are such a concern for all of us. Hugs. Irish ;D

Hi Billye  :)

Welcome back!  I'm sorry the move has had such a bad affect on your health. You've had a really awful year of it! I hope after all that frenetic activity you can get a bit of rest now.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Thanks all!  The welcome back's made me feel right at home.  I told my husband today that I thought I'd put a recliner in our guestroom and make it Billye's bedroom.  :D

Pud,
You really gave me a laugh with your comment about the "new comedy" show.  I'm so tired of politics.  My husband lives, eats and breathes news shows and all that is on them right now is politics.  But the election will soon be over and then we get to listen to all the blow-by-blows of it afterward.  You know...kinda like the football commentary.

Lucy,
I like your plain old welcome.  I can't do fancy either.

Thanks all,
Billye

hey Billye,

Your election comedy is so big that we are getting live coverage of the polling over here in Australia tomorrow. Purrlease our own election was bad enough

Hi Billye and welcome back! Sorry you have been laid so low, but from your earlier descriptions of the move it doesn't surprise me in the least. You were working your bottom off.

You are right about moving being so difficult. I truly think the decline I've been in for the last 3 - 4 years was the result of the Herculean job of cleaning out and selling our mother's house after her death (50 years of stuff exactly, her own stuff plus that of at least four other households she inherited over the years).

My recommendation is to downsize, room by room, and then not move. My husband and I did that at our house - clearing everything out of a room to paint it and only putting back a few things. Besides, I couldn't leave my garden behind.

Take care, get some rest. Hopefully the old house will find its new people soon.
