Hi

I was on this board a while back and have dry eyes confrimed by Opthamologist, Raynauds, dry skin, slightly dry mouth, extreme fatigue, two occassions when the middle joints of my fingers have swollen up and more...I went to a Rheumy and he did the blood tests and said I was fine.  Diagnosed me with dry eye syndrome.  Didn't listen when I aksed him why I had all these other horrid symptoms.  I asked for a lip biopsy but he said no as my blood work was fine!  I've now been reading that even lip biopsies can be inconclusive!  good heavens where to next.  I've been ill for 15 years and still have no diagnosis.  You can imagine the amount of doc's I've seen.  I'm seeing a holistic doc who treats people for chronic fatigue next week but I still wonder if I may have sjogrens.  There does seem to be an inflamation response going on.

Is there anyone on these boards from Queensland, Australia?  I live in Brisbane and would love to see a doctor who treats based on symptoms/history.  I'm so desperate I asked the rheumy if I could take a trial of Planquil to see if it helped but again he said no.  Where do I turn?

Thanks

G'day whatsup, you definitely need to see a diffrent Rheumy!!  I had recently a similar experience with my Rheumy.  I asked about what could be done about my chronic fatigue?  His answer was I had to just live with it.  SjS is a very sneaky disease.  It affects each one of us differently.  You can still have it even though you have negative test results.  Seeing a holistic doctor sounds like a good move on your part.  Let us know how that turns out.

Our newest moderator Pudmont is from down under.  I am sure she will soon be in touch with you.  Have you perused the finding a physician section of the site yet? You may find your answer there.
