How bad is it????

How bad is our health care in Ontario? I've told you about my shake-your-head, unbelievable problems just getting an appointment with my gp or just getting a gp period here. i also told you last week about a friend that after 7 months of being horribly ill, being told it was IBS and "nerves", that was finally diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He got an appointment for a biopsy for one week later. He went to the appointment was on the table when he was asked have you eaten today? he said yes, he was then told we can't do the biopsy with anything in your stomach! That the biopsy would have to be cancelled and rebooked! Nobody told him anything about the procedure but when and where. The sheer take a number attitude and lack of compation kills me. I don't know if you all know the prognosis for pancreatic cancer, he's been told that up front and  in fact just to go home. If that's not enough to deal with he's  just 43, single, no wife to make him watch his health, you know we all have to, and healthy never delt with any illness before how would he know not to eat? He's lost 100 lbs in 7 months now they are telling to eat anything!   I tell you we all just as well might better pay for one of our own bright neices or nephews to go to med school it seems we might have a chance at some kind of health care. This young man hasn't got time to waste in the diagnostic stage, they are talking weeks. Sorry for yelling. This is too unbelievable to think about. Thanks for the rant time, and if you can please mention Darren the next time you talk with your God I hope at least he is paying attention. Ask him to give him just a shot, any little win at all, anything. thanks allot. Sandra

Sandra, you rant and rage all you want.  We all have to let it out or we will surely explode. 

There are people here in the US that just don't understand why those of us who are against National Health Service coming here don't want it.  They should read some of the posts from those like you that have it and can't get care. 

I'm so sorry for your friend Darren.  I will keep him in my prayers also.
