When I was first dx'd I was told that Sjogrens would be a nuisance disease. Not being able to read, watch tv, spend time outside is not a nuisance it is a disability. I can only hope that MD"s will one day understand what it means to have dry eyes, not a nuisance!!!!!!!!!!!!

Skylar

I agree, I think every doctor should be, at least temporarily afflicted with some horrible chronic disease so they can personally understand.

Maybe he meant Sjogren's Syndrome Disease patients are a nuisance.

Janna,

I think you're a lot closer to the truth than a lot of doctors are willing to even admit!

Well that is an interesting term to use for SJS.  I would say the pn pain I have from the SJS is definately a nuisance.  It is one of those pesky little things that just hangs around and annoys me 24/7 making things pretty miserable at times.  I guess that is the definition of a nuisance.  Maybe we can establish a scale from 1 to 10 on which symptoms are the bigger nuisance.  Wonder which one your doctor would choose as the most annoying if he were dealing with SJS?

Janna, what a great comment!! :D

Maybe the doctor that thinks SJS is just a nuisance should do a little reading here.

The doctors who say that Sjogrens is a "nuisance" disease don't know diddly squat!!!!!! If their wife had it they would think differently. Irish ;D

Hi Irish,

Too true, too true - more so if THEY had it.
