Want to share about Xiidra for dry eye

My eye doctor said it was time to get more aggressive with my dry eye and gave me free samples of Xiidra eye drops. I've used greasy steroid creams but they never worked. But this Xiidra seems to really be helping!  Only problem - when I filled the RX it was $800 for 30 days!  Eeep! But, my eye doctor gave me a coupon from the manufacturer and it paid 100% of it! I don't know how long the coupon is good for so I'm only using the drops every other day to try to stretch it out. But I wanted to share with others suffering with dry eye.

I have had sjogrens and RA diagnosis for 13 years, I believe I have had it for more than 15 years. RA also causes eye inflammation too. I have tried 3 things to help with dry inflamed eyes , cauterized closed my lower tear ducts, tried Restasis, tried Xiidra. Out of all 3...closing the tear ducts was the best effective thing I did.As you know with autoi mine diseases...they flare...then quiet down like ...a roller coaster. I have been relieved of my dry eye problem for about 5 years now. It's probably just a long term reprieve that may end sometime. Just mentioning all this in case you haven't tried closing up your lower tear ducts.

I used to use Xiidra for my sjogrens dry eyes and it was a godsend, however my insurance decided not to cover it and I can't afford it anymore. Crazy a company can just decide to not cover something they used too! My eyes were normal with the 2 doses daily. I would love to know what coupon you had and maybe i can get one. Thanks

I'm sorry they did that to you! Big companies really don't care. I took a picture of the coupon but don't see how to attach it. But it says you can go to xiidra.com or call 1-877-4xiidra. Mine was filled at Walmart. When I gave the pharmacy tech the card, she just had to call to verify. I was thrilled it was free. No idea how long the coupon will last but I've used it twice. I hope you find some answers! Good luck!
