I have been visiting here for many years but never posted, so I thought it was time that I did. I wanted you all to know that the information provided here by members has been very helpful for me, as I'm sure it is for so many others who visit. Things that I never would have thought of, I learned here. For example, I tried out a mint tea Joe had mentioned in a post for tooth nerve pain... I will always be so thankful for the relief it gave me when nothing else worked - who would have thought. Also, through all the information here, I was able to push myself through a difficult 2 year battle with Social Security to finally get approved for disability back in 2015. It is good to see that Sjogren's Syndrome is now recognized as an autoimmune system disorder that is more than just dry eyes... as it can become very life changing for many of us.

Things seem to be a little more quiet here in the forum these days (I had some difficulty finding this forum again after there was an apparent change a while ago), but I'm happy to see people still visit and post, sharing their daily lives. I hope those who have been away are doing well, and will post again when they can. Thanks again to everyone for sharing your experiences and information. You are much appreciated.

Yes, I've found more help here that from doctors.   As just one example, some very good advice when I had blepharitis.   I'm glad you've found it so helpful. :)
Dry eyes (MGD), nose, mouth, occasional labyrinthitis,  dry skin , mouth ulcers, constant but fluctuating fatigue, IBS.  Blood tests and Schirmers negative,no Sjogrens dx yet.   Omega 3 algal oil, multivitamins, Evolve eye drops, Xailin eye ointment,  moisturiser (Instituto Espanol 10% urea).

Yes, Welcome Twiggy. It was so good of you to start posting. The number of people on this site go up and down. I think it depends on how busy people are and also the ages of people. WE all have times when life calls us with a lot of business and not so welcome events.

P.S.
I got my disability quite soon after I applied. But...I got it in 2004 or so soon after I had been diagnosed with Sjogrens (my 2nd diagnosis of an AID}. I had been in poor health since 1964 with so many symptoms that it drove me and doctors crazy. Finally in 2003 or so a doctor told me to apply for disability. I was devastated. I was 60 years old and thought I just would need to rest more and probably improve just like all the other times.

I always said that by the time I wrote all that stuff down for disability the SS people knew more about me than I did about myself...and then I added 3 more AID diagnoses to the list.
