I had heard on Wed that we had flu in our senior living. I am not out and about much and had missed dinner on Tues. I decided to stay in my room all day on Thursday as I had an important doctors appointment on Friday. Woke up at 3am Friday morning with the flu.

This flu has spread so fast within our facility and in less than 2 weeks has pretty much affected most of the people here including the help. I had heard there was flu around but this one really spread fast. Lasted about 30 hours and then improved. Just curious about this. meirish

I'm sorry you contracted the stomach flu, Irish.   That can be the downside of living with a group of people unfortunately, can't it?

I'm WAY north and west of you, so geographically very far away.  We are getting lots of colds in schools right now.  My grandchildren and in-laws have all had or have it.  And they are still masked.

Get well soon.

Hi Irish,

Norovirus started in our Senior Living Community about three weeks ago.  And three or four people were affected.

But our very strict hygiene protocols kept it from spreading to everyone, which is common in a 'congregate living' like nursing homes, cruise ships, retirement communities.

Evidently Norovirus infections can make you very very sick.  So far, I haven't been sick with anything except my UTI curse.  But I have developed a good preventative routine, and haven't had a UTI since November.

Hi  :)
I think it's over in the UK too. My daughter spent a horrible couple of days  (one of them being her birthday) and one of her friends did too. fever and vomiting. Not nice.

Hope you are all over it now.
Take care - Scottie  :)

It has been a week and I felt better in a couple days and started eating and then it came back.....no vomiting then but the nausea and weakness, dizziness, just not up to par at all. AM beginning to wonder if my gallbladder is kicking up also. Had oatmeal for lunch today and it tasted so good. No fat in it!!!

Hope all is well with you Scottie. meirish
