Different types of mouth dryness?

Do any of you have a variety of dry mouth sensations that fluctuate daily? I can't tell if my mouth is becoming even drier (is that even possible over the course of just a few days?!?) or if something else is happening. Basically all of this started a month and a half ago when I suddenly woke up from my sleep with totally dry mouth and throat that just never went away. But now, it is starting to feel like the texture of the insides of my cheeks is "fuzzy" or something. It is way more noticeable if I eat or speak but it is always there. It's like the texture of everything is wrong. I thought maybe it was because I've been using xylimelts at night and eating a lot more sugar free candies and that they were irritating my cheeks, but I didn't use them last night and my mouth still feels so weird. It also feels "fuzzy" on the edges of my tongue. Anyone experience this or does it sound like something different? Thanks.

Extreme dryness can make your mouth feel all different ways.  It can be quite aggravating!  My mouth has had multiple conditions from dry to pain to fuzzy, etc. Please be sure to get the prescription Evoxac or Salagen to help produce saliva.  It will at least help some.  Use dry mouth gels and sprays and sip water.

I have been really wanting to try Evoxac or Salagen, but since I don't have a diagnosis yet, I can't find a doctor who will prescribe it for me. I've been surviving by using Biotene mouth spray and mouth wash, sucking on sugar free candy, and using xylimelts, but I feel like these things only work for about 5 minutes at a time. This really sucks and is the worst thing I have ever experienced in my life, and I've had some pretty horrendous things in the past. I don't know why, but this dry mouth is more bothersome to me than any pain or sickness I've ever had. I just want my life back  :'(

Dear Deseree,

I don't remember your history.  If by diagnosis you mean a diagnosis of Sjogren's, that kind of diagnosis isn't necessary to have and RX for Salagen or Evoxac.

Several sorts of doctors CAN diagnose 'dry mouth' including dentists, primary care, rheumatologists, otolaryngologists.  Such doctors can also prescribe Salagen/Evoxac.

Once dry mouth is diagnosed, the doctor should RX Salagen/Evoxac.

And yes, I have several sensations.  One problems is sticky foamy saliva at night.  My mouth is a mess.  Sometimes I am severely hoarse.

And this is with 3/4 Salagen a day!
