I suddenly came down with severe abdominal pain. After many blood tests, my serum amylase and lipase levels were high.
So now we know. This is consistent with pancreatitis. I was put on Tramadol, which helped a little. Percocet works much better!

I was suffering from Autoimmune Pancreatitis, and this acute onset 10 years later was not surprising.
If you get abdominal pain and you have SS, this could be due to Autoimmune Pancreatitis. It does respond to Prednisone.

Hi Vrystaat

Since last 13 months in have a discomfort in upper right side and upper right back when i sleep on the right side or when i am lying on recliner. When i sit right or stand i do not have any discomfort. Any idea what this condition can be?

My gastroenterologist checked my ultrasound of abdomen and it turned out to be normal and said he does not know that this is....

Thanks

Joe S.

Happylife, please see your doctor about this. It could also be a different issue when  the pain shoots up to your neck. (Gallbladder)

Joe

I have shown this to gastroenterologist, orthopedic and rhumetologist. All of them have no clue.... All are telling me to ignore !!!!

But this started along with dry eyes, dry mouth, atypical face pain.... So this has to be a sjogren related symptom/disese.

I guess friends in this forum might be able to relate to this. Note that i don't have pain..... When i sleep....i feel aa if some thing is pressing me.

Thanks

You will really know when you get this complication It begins with mid central abdominal pain, which can shoot through to the back. In my case it built up in 4 days to agonizing pain, nausea, loss of appetite and just feeling terrible. Also, a mild fever. I was treated for this 10 years ago in an academic institution, but biopsies couldn't prove it. I was started on a 5 day dose pack, with immediate improvement. It is meant to be very rare. But it never really goes away. For 3 years now, I've had this pain, and physicians discounted it. I now will be going on 5 mg daily for the rest of my life. Good luck to you all.
