Had my first rituxan infusion a week ago and all went well, a small reaction, but benedryl worked well. I have seborrheic dermatitis that has been very silent for quite some time, but during the treatment it began to burn (oh darn I thought). A couple of days after the infusion my lower pelvic area ached and my breasts ached at times and a few days later I began to spot. Today my skin and scalp are oily and I am very concerned as I have PCOS and don't want the androgens to be activated. Anybody have this reaction from rituxan? Or perhaps it is from the steroid bomb they give you? Besides that I haven't noticed anything bad besides probably from easy bruising but I don't want my skin worse after the second infusion. My rheumy said he was unsure but maybe someone on this forum has an idea about this? Thanks.

I took Rituxan for 9 years and never had any reaction like that. Sorry I can't be much help. I did find that each time I got an infusion, my body reacted just a little bit differently than the time before. Have you had both infusions for this series or do you still need one more? Good  luck and I hope you find a reason for your new symptoms. Hang in there!
