Hi.
Approx 3 weeks ago I battled the flu...still have a little problem with wet cough and fatigue.
You husband has a cough still. All in all....we are better.

Question. During my 1st week with the flu I had chills, a fever, muscle aches, cough, fatigue.
However I had one more symptom that my husband didn't have. I broke out in vesicles on
My back, stomach and chest. They broke open and there was clear fluid, no pain and
Some itching when they stabbed over. The dry scabs are just barely visible now.

What would it have been. I first though of chicken pox.

If it was just on one side of the body it might be possible that it was shingles. It would be strange to have shingles without pain, however, as shingles follows the path or nerves. It is also possible that this rash was part of the flu as a flu is a virus. Shingles and chicken pox are both the same virus but your rash may have been a flu virus rash. With that being said, I really don't have an answer you can place a bet on.

Has your hubby seen a doctor and been on an antibiotic at all? It is very common to have the flu and then have a secondary infection such as bronchitis or pneumonia and need antibiotics. At the very least a doctor could give him an inhaler for his cough. These coughs that last so long are often bronchial spasms that need inhalers to calm them down. Good luck. Irish

I'm not a nurse but thought I'd just say my husband gets a rash all over his arms, back, chest whenever he gets flu or even a bad cold.   This started in his twenties when he got really bad flu one winter, and it's continued ever since.   I suspect it might have something to do with him having quite sensitive skin.
Dry eyes (MGD), nose, mouth, occasional labyrinthitis,  dry skin , mouth ulcers, constant but fluctuating fatigue, IBS.  Blood tests and Schirmers negative,no Sjogrens dx yet.   Omega 3 algal oil, multivitamins, Evolve eye drops, Xailin eye ointment,  moisturiser (Instituto Espanol 10% urea).
