Way, since developing Sjogrens, I have  no clue when my thyroid is off.  They can have overlapping symptoms. Possibly weight gain might be a tip off?

I think most docs might treat someone with symptoms and a TSH of 4. Others here have said they like to keep their TSH between 1-2, which is a more normal value.

Good luck to you.

I sure as heck would like to know just how your doc is basing subclinical hypothyroidism....for crying out loud I would think she would treat it early rather than wait til you feel like you are dying. At 8 I am in misery. If it is above normal that means that you most likely will need meds. Sure there are some people who feel good a little above normal, but if you feel tired and have some other issues I would insist on trying a med or find another doctor. If you tried the med you might feel 18 years old again!!!! Irish
