SIBO? IBS? Probiotics?

Dear Sjogren's Angels,

This IBS? SIBO? whatever! is making me crazy.  This morning I felt pretty OK.  Ate some cottage cheese because my morning meds require that I eat something.

*Very soon, lots of rumbling, pain, nausea (new) and then a major trip to the bathroom.  This is still going on 3 hours later....but seems to be tapering off.

Up until now I only have had problems with my esophagus (completely separate from this).

Now I can 'feel' food just 'sitting' in my stomach, then the rapid onset of problems above*.

WTH is going on?  I downloaded and printed out the FODMAP shopping list.

I will withdraw my probiotics from my med boxes (tho' I have taken a probiotic for EVER, but never mind).

We all know that new stuff arises and former meds and supplements can be a problem in a heartbeat.

I am really really tired of this.  Gastro-intestinal stuff (which I have had VERY SELDOM) make me crazy-go-nuts.  Right now my gut hurts, I ache all over and I'm very tired.

I also have serious THRUSH on my tongue.  WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ME?

Ok, gotta find that bottle of Metamucil.

Thanks for being here for me.  It means the world.

Hugs,  Elaine

Hello, I am sorry you were feeling so poorly!  How are you feeling today?

Has anything changed with your medicine routine? I imagine you are taking a PPI for your esophagus?  The problem with those (I had taken Prilosec for 25 years) is they keep your food from digesting properly as they reduce the amount of available stomach acid.

I know how you feel though, I used to have IBS-D, for the last ten years its been "C".  Neither is pleasant but I think D is worse with the stomach cramping etc.
