Vitamin D3 and sinus problems

I thought I was getting another cold the other day or some sort of allergies I never had before.  My symptoms were runny nose, sneezing and post nasal drip.  No fever, no chills, no sore throat.  A tickle in my throat came on a few days before and then stopped.

I stayed home from work on Monday and since I had not taken my Vitamin D3 for some time, I decided it couldn't hurt (because I start getting anxious and depressed when I am low in it).  After about an hour of 1,000mg pill, all my sinuses opened up, the post nasal drip stopped, the sneezing and runny nose stopped.

Is that possible?  Anyone else have this happen?

After taking it again today, I find that Vitamin D3 at 1,000mg seems to dry me up.  Perhaps I still have the allergies but the Vitamin D3 is acting like a decongestant for me.  Weird.

I think you mean 1000 IU, not mg, because at 0.025 mcg or 0.000025 mg= 1 IU, that would be an equivalent dose of 40 milion IU

Could be the Vitamin D itself, or one of the products used as binders or fillers.

I use spicy foods like wasabi or hot and sour soup to get my sinuses going.
