Kell .....

If you have not had a lip biopsy (minor salivary gland biopsy), I would recommend getting an appointment with Dr. Holly Boyer, ENT at the U of MN, so she can do a lip biopsy on you. Dr. Boyer IS definitely accepting patients.

If your lip biopsy comes back positive for Sjogren's, then ask Dr. Boyer to refer you to Dr. Fazeli. I think that will be the best way to get a referral AND get an appointment with Dr. Fazeli.

They are both in the same physician's group, University of Minnesota Physicians. I cannot be sure, but I think if you get a referral from Dr. Boyer to see Dr. Fazeli, you will have a better  chance of getting in to see Dr. Fazeli.

I actually do not have another recommendation for a Rheumatologist  in MN yet. We (Sjogren's support group) are attempting to update our recommendation list but that is going to take time. Our current list is very old and some of the Rheumatologists have retired. We have also  learned that some of the other Rheumatologists do absolutely nothing for their Sjogren's patients so we will not keep them on our list. Basically we are starting from scratch. Several of our members are searching for new Rheumatologists as well.

If you want to send me a PM I can give you more information about specific Rheumatologists or Rheumatology groups in MN.

Regarding the testosterone and Sjogren's connection ..... I don't know where you would find information on that except by googling it. A good Endocrinologist or Rheumatologist may know the answer, but I would try googling it too.

Lisa, I just read through some of these posts and I see that your doc feels your elevated ANA if from the Hashimotos. Hashimotos is an autoimmune disease and if a person has one autoimmune disease they are very likely to have another one or two....Interesting the way these doctors think. Some doctors need to be hit over the head to put these things together. Good luck. Irish
