Weird health incident - any of it sound familiar?

I had a weird series of health events today, and I wonder if this suggests anything to anyone. Trying to figure if this means more than what happened.

When I got up this morning, I had a lot of nasal "sludge" and got coughing really hard. This happens sometimes, though this seemed "out of the blue".

I'd just finished a light lunch (some chicken and a piece of bread), when I started getting an asthma attack, and my nose started running like mad.  I do have asthma, but usually am only triggered by the cold, and it was hot. What was weird was only my right lung and my right side of the nose were involved. Within a minute or so my right eye went very dry, and felt like I had something in it. I checked - couldn't see anything, but put drops in. The eye felt even drier after the drops. After a couple of more minutes, the eyelid twitched for a while.

Used my rescue inhaler, which was little help, and used it again a bit later. More drops, which seemed to make things worse. Eventually things settled down, though my lung is still feeling very close to another attack 6 hours later.  This wiped me all out, and I slept for a while.

During all this I got the weird idea that this was somehow related to my autonomic neuropathy based on no facts whatsoever. I think the weird thing was it was all on 1 side, and the eye change was so instantaneous.

Does this suggest anything to you?   I'm looking for some unifying theory other than "just another bad day for a Sjoggie" though I know that might be what it is.

I think you hit the nail on the head. I would bet that this is related to the autonomic system. I don't get how it works but something triggered this whole thing. I would call your doctor and let him know what has taken place cause one would wonder if this is going to continue to be a problem. The fact that you had such a rough time of this with the asthma attack, etc and got so exhausted, makes me wonder if there is something that will prevent this from happening again. I don't know what the ramifications of this could be. Maybe someone else has been through this. Maybe next time go to urgent care or ER to get assessment and help. Also, having this documented would really help down the road with other doctors. Good luck. Irish

Nope. Never happened to me and I hope it never does. I'm with Irish. Seek urgent care if it happens again. Pretty creepy stuff. Hope you feel better.
I miss the good old days. Things were more like they used to be back then.

Thanks for the feedback.  I'm trying to figure out where I go with this... but good to know your thoughts.
