I've heard of a great chiropractor here in Nashville where I live.
Has anyone had any success seeing one? My small fiber neuropathy is really acting up. I hate these MS feelings.
Stress totally brings it on- like my son teething and constantly screaming.....arggg it's harder than i imagined hearing your baby scream and cry 24/7.
I don't have any money to spare really but am desperate for some relief.

Thank you
Angie

Angie, I am sorry to hear that you are going through so much.  I hope my experience with my current chiropractor will provide you with some hope.

I went to him to help with my horrible neck pain and migraines. He has improved my quality of life so much.  I no longer experience the same intensity of pain in my neck, the numbness in my fingers is now infrequent and migraines are less frequent and less debilitating. My breathing has improved too, making it easier to take a deep breath.

Cognitively things are better too and I feel an overall calmness.

But I have been seeing him since January, three times a week.  It has been a huge commitment.  But for me it was a last resort.  All my doctors were able to do was prescribe drugs for the pain, but the side affects were impossible to have any kind of quality of life.

I was very skeptical at first, and fearful.  But he listens to my concerns and does nothing that I am uncomfortable with.  My first chiropractor actually referred me to him because she was unable to help me.

I hope this helps,  Angie.

This is such a coincidence because I've been thinking about a chiropractor today because of the back pain I've been experiencing.

I use a chiro mostly for spinal issues. Radiating pain would be a good reason to see a chiro.

For the last 15 years, the facet joints in my neck (C1/C2 & C2/C3 on the right, C4/C5 on the left) have repeatedly seized up, with swelling around the joints that puts pressure on the nerves that triggers migraines.

I've tried stretches/neck exercises, being conscious of posture, changed bedding/pillows/seating/computer screen heights/etc...the best I can do is to postpone the migraines by a few days.

It takes about 2.5-4.5 weeks for my neck to be back in the semi-frozen state with a palpable egg-shaped lump over the right hand side.

I've found that if I go to the chiro every 3 weeks, I can mostly manage to avoid the migraines - which means I have less sick days from work, and less pain overall to deal with. It's cheaper for me to *go* to the chiro regularly than it is to be missing work regularly. I can walk in with a migraine, and walk out without one. For me, referring me to the chiro was the best darn thing my previous GP ever did for me.

So yes, I've had a lot of success - but it's temporary. I'd dearly love to find out why my neck keeps doing this, but at least the chiro can help keep it under control.

There are some good chiropractors out there. The one I see noticed my facial weakness before my GP did. I don't go much and my chiro knows that I do not want to have anything snapped or more invasive. He does the deep heat stimulation and gentle range of motion and it takes just a few visits to get my symptoms more tolerable. I have had trouble with discs for years and don't want anything done to cause me more trouble than I already have.

There are times that we get the tightness with pain and don't want to get in the pain pill/muscle relaxant pill routine. Ask around for suggestions for good chiros. The first visit pretty well lets you know if they will abide by your desires and if thy respect your desires. Good luck. Irish

Gosh thank you all for your responses. I'm going to give it a go and call this one that everybody talks about in Nashville.
I'll definitely let you all know if it helps :)

I hope you get very positive results.  My advice is that you go slowly, because for me at least, too many adjustments or too agressive adjustments will throw my body into a painful flare.
