I have a script for evoxac. I have asthma but right now, it's fairly well controlled.  I've read that having asthma is an contraindication to taking it but I am pretty dry. The ARNP thought I'd be ok taking it. Anybody have any thoughts for me? Thanks!

I would say give it a try.  You know they have to list every possible issue or side effect.  It doesn't  mean it will happen.

Good luck!

Deb,

I have asthma but take the maximum dose of generic Evoxac that I can.  I would have a panic attack if someone took my Evoxac  away!

I still have asthma but I believe that it is all related to my Sjogrens.  I never developed asthma until I had Sjogrens and I realize now that I had Sjogrens for years before I could even admit to myself that I was sick.

It got really out of control before I was actually diagnosed.  (The same story for so many of us!).

The Evoxac has made a huge difference in my quality of life as well as the Plaquinil.

I advise  you to take it if you need it.  Meaning are you very dry?  Do you have difficulty chewing and swallowing your food?  Before the Evoxac I had lost my sense of smell and taste completely.  My mouth was so bone dry that I developed callouses where my teeth rubbed against my cheeks.

If you need it take it.  It has not affected my asthma one way or the other but has done me much good.

Good luck!

Thanks, Kathy, that's great to hear. Yea, I am pretty dry!!! LOL.... Funny that my asthma seemed to go into remission on the plaquenil. I agree, it's probably all related, being inflammatory conditions. I am grateful to be off the inhalers and hope I don't have to go back on them. One less medicine is great. Yes, plaquenil is starting to work for me, thank goodness. I am sun sensitive. I've got to invest in a few shirts with SPF.
