I have had TWO pain-free days :) :) :)

Sadly - 'normal' (aka - healthy) has become a foreign state :(  I realized today that it isn't until I feel good that I realize just how much of a toll my health challenges have taken on my life over the past couple of years.  And it amazes me how quickly things can change!  One day I was stiff and hurting and then *poof* - the aches and pains disappeared and I am full of energy.

Does anyone else experience sudden shifts from good to bad, and then bad to good?  In my logical world, this would occur more gradually than it seems to have happened this time...

I'm not so well that I consider my HEALED.  I still have some basic symptoms (too many to mention!), but they are nothing in the scheme of things.

Oh Head2Toe,

I'm so lucky to have found the 'mix of medications' the means I have mostly good days now, and THEN I'm blindsided by the bad days of a flare, which I had recently.

Yes, we all go up and down suddenly.  The 'down' is the result of the attack on some part of our body by our Immune Disorder.  The
'up' is when the attack stops!   Or for me, a mix of medications that reduces the effects of the attacks on my body. It takes a very strong attack to get through the meds.  But when that happens, then I'm miserable.

The key is that the attack of our Immune System Disorders cause inflammation.  And the inflammation causes fatigue, pain, depression and perhaps other symptoms from inflammation.

Taking anti-inflammatories may help, as well as taking an antihistamine.  In addition, taking the standard RX drugs for Immune System Disorders like plaquenil, methotrexate and biologicals and prednisone can greatly reduce the attacks of our Immune System Disorders and/or reduce the inflammation.

I am so excited for your good days.  I know how you can be so happy.  Pain free days are awesome, but I guess in the back of our mind is how long it will last.  I am going to start journaling again to see how often I am getting a breakthrough day.  Haven't had one but I have had days that I tolerate the pain better.  Yippee!

Congrats!  I pray your good days come more frequently.

Yes...I have good and bad days that sometimes seem shift as you mentioned, although admittedly, I think I forgot what it feels like to have "real" good days like a healthy person.  Regardless, they are good to me and that's what's important.  Enjoy those good days!!

Hi, I am Michelle, and started here yesterday!!  Yeah!!  It is so surprising when you get a really good day, and such a wonderful surprise, that I have found myself calling my husband
at work to tell him "I feel good"!  It is such a giddy feeling, and we don't take that for granted, we don't get that feeling very often!!  I am so happy that you have had two good days, and perhaps
today will be your third?  Fingers crossed!!
I am glad to be a part of this group, and look forward to meeting some new friends that share what it is like to live with Sjogrens, and the rest of the "stuff" it brings a long with it!!

Hello headtotoe,
I am doing my "happy dance" for you. Yay for no pain days and double yay for good days!!😆
We generally have roller coaster ride type health issues so we do take notice of the changes.
Do you keep a journal so you can track your ups and downs? I have started to put pen to paper to take note of what is working (or not) so my doctors and I know what works best for me.
We all need to celebrate all the good and positivity in our autoimmune world.
Grateful for good days!

Many thanks to everyone who is celebrating with me!  Today is Day 4 :)

I had a good laugh with a colleague yesterday when I told her how great I felt, but I was also frustrated because I can't get into see a specialist when I'm exhausted and wracked with pain, but somehow manage to regain my health just prior to the appointments (it takes months).  As we parted ways she said (all in good humour) 'I hope you get sick soon!'

Gramma - I began journalling in 2013 when I became sick because there was so much strange stuff going on that I needed to write it down to keep track of the insanity.  But I haven't kept it up.  Honestly, even when I'm feeling 'great', I still have symptoms (just fewer), and I get really tired of writing the same things over and over and over again.  But I DO pay the price for not journalling because when I try to remember something about specific symptoms (or lack thereof) - of course I just can't...  I keep telling my husband that 'I need an app for that' - something I can customize and complete with check marks to make it seem like less of a chore.

For those of you who are not feeling so great - I hope you feel better soon!!!
