Hi there,

I'm a newbie here and actually came across this site while doing a search for collar bone & neck pain.
I have Sjorgrens & have developed this aching pain just behind the front bone of my collar bone that also aches at a point midway between my ear and bottom of my neck (at the side).  It's incredibly uncomfortable and is aggravated by carrying my backpack or heavy items in that arm.  When it settles down it's fine but if i start moving about, it will start throbbing.
I did read another thread about this but as it was 6 years old, thought I better start a new one and see if anyone else has the same issue.
I am seeing my Rhumy in May.

Thanks Lizzie

Hi Lizzie

Welcome! I think I have had the pain you describe.I was prescribed physiotherapy for it, which did help a lot. I think mine is a combination of arthritis and poor posture. The stretching exercises helped to stretch the muscles that had become tense. I also use Plaquenil and Celecoxib for the pain.

You might be able to find some exercises online to help.

Hi Kathy,

Thanks, yes I do Pilates every week which helps with the pain and often do the stretches to help.  I might talk to my trainer and see if she has any ideas too

Lizzy - Welcome aboard!

I have osteoarthritis and struggle with both neck and collar bone pain.  If you haven't had a medical assessment for this pain - that is definitely worth pursuing.  Stretching and exercise are always good - but it would be good to know what you're dealing with so you are doing the BEST stretching and exercise for your situation.
