Hello Everyone,

It's one of those times I try to keep at bay as much as possible, but I have got to get it out today. Maybe it will help.

I have been on the phone making new appointments, dreading going all at the same time. Afraid what I might find out, and to tired making the trips.

Cancelled my due appointment with the Pulmonolgist last week, and they said because I had cancelled too many times, I had to get another referral from my regular gp. Most of those cancellations were due to the ice and snow we had. I live in the mountains. Funny thing is I had cancelled this one due to so sick and weak I didn't think I could make the trip before seeing my gp and getting some meds.

Me and hubby both went to gp and both of us sick and got two shots. One with antibiotic and the other we got was a steriod shot. Then she even called us both in some pills of antibiotics. And we picked up mucus relief pills at the dollar store.

Thing is I keep trying to cough.(yes I need to see the pulmonologist) My cough isn't like any I remember. My cough isn't a persistent cough that makes you sore. Just a cough that comes a bit here and there, like I need something to break loose or something is there. None of the meds are causing me to cough up anything, but I can take good deep breaths. Note: They called me today and I do have another appointment in April to see the pulmonologist. I have to keep it too, short of my death. lol...

I also showed a kidney infection when at the gp. I have had one for at least a year now with meds given on and off, but when I went to a urologist a few months ago, he said I did not have one. OKKK.

My gp has me scheduled for a place closer to me to have a CT - SCAN done on the 25 of this month. I drink prep night before so it will show up my bladder and kidneys better.

Me and hubby both go this Thursday to see our Endocrinologist. I do want to be there no matter how I feel, because it will be my second appointment with him, and blood work shows low cortisol, and something else, besides first visit him saying I have some nodules on both sides of my thyroid. (will let you know what he says)

In first week of April I then see my Rhuematologist for next appointment.

Then Last day of this month I go for first appointment with Gynecologist for pap tests and to find out why at 61 I am still having short periods, off and on. Well, actually I did see him once several years ago, but haven't been there since.

I hurt so bad in my bladder area. I keep the cough that is just like something there but not sure what. I am so fatigued I can't stand doing much of anything. It feels so hard and takes so much strength for the doctor visits that are like an hour or more away.

I am feeling overwhelmed by it all I guess is what I am saying, and having to get out. I have been praying a lot.

I also have a little part Yorkie dog (Bonnie) who I love so so much, and she has separation anxiety. So when she sees me getting dressed and looking for my purse she knows something is up, and mommy is leaving. lol.. She goes with her little head down, and gets on the bed to stay until I return. She is probably that way due to being our little rescue dog that was going to just be put out to fend for herself.

I don't know why I added that about Bonnie, but she is watching me while I type.

Thanks for listening everyone.

I know all of you are going through your pains, fatigue too. God Bless All of You.

Susan,  Please get it out.  Its better out and explained than in and driving you nuts that you cannot express yourself.  I know how you feel about all the overwhelming doctors appointments.  Having to get new referrals, new diagnosis, it goes on and on.  Please love on your doggie and your husband...maybe I should have said that the other way around...but anyway we understand and we send good thoughts and prayers your way.

Peace and blessings,
Angeldancer

Dear Susanep, Thinking of so many appointments at one time does seem overwhelming, and when you are feeling bad and fatigued at the same time, that makes it so much worse.  As hard as it is, try to break it down to one day at a time, and get through one appointment at a time, instead of thinking of the many appointments you have ahead of you.  I know I really try to do that, it is
the one good thing this auto immune disease has done for me.  I don't have the energy to worry long term, one day is enough for me!!  LOL!
I hope that helps a little, and you will be in my thoughts and prayers!!
Michelle :)

Thank you,

Jo, Angledancer, and Michelle.

I need to practice more of the one day at a time, and specifically with the appointments.

Hugs,

Susan, I truly understand. This is what my hubby and I went through for many years. It is so hard feeling sick and then having to go to the doctor. And you are right, that doesn't make sense but it is the truth. Then when you have the 2 of you feeling sick it is twice as hard trying to get ready and going and making sure you have meds and snacks.

Getting all the information to the doctor and then remembering what they tell you about both of you. It is just beyond the pits. We always said that the best part of the day was coming home to a cup of coffee and our recliner. After we had rested some scrambled egg sandwiches tasted good.

You are within your rights to whine, moan, complain and whatever else you want to do because being a "patient" is one of the hardest jobs there is. People who think we run to the doctor for any little thing truly do not understand chronic illness nor do they understand the way the medical system works. There is no such thing anymore as seeing just one doctor.

Try to rest up for these events and take one day at a time. That is all the suggestions I have. I think we all manage to get through this by the hair on our chiny, chin, chin. Hugs. Irish

Oh Susan, the many different  dr visits, along with feeling lousy is so very

familiar. I made my 3rd appt for a routine over-due colonoscopy. The first two were canceled 2 days

in advance, because I had acute bronchitis. The desk clerk rudely reminded me that if I cancel again,

the dr will not see me, ever. This is a gastro center with several doctors. They schedule colonoscopies

every  30 minutes. Even though  I understood  the reasoning behind this, it stung.

Friday is a Los Angeles trip (2 hrs) to see a gyno and  rheumo - my fatigue is bad, Very bad & I

do not feel prepared. So, I'm whining too, despite many things for which to feel grateful.

I hope you are having a better day. I Can hear birds singing in my back yard - my favorite tune in the

morning :).  Hugs to you,  Tricia

Thanks all for listening. It truly is the pits. (pain in the senses) lol.... I got to see my dad today and was happy about that.

Now need to get to bed, and sleep a bit before the Endocrinologist appointment.

Hugs,

Hi dear, you should get more than a pap smear, cause you shouldn't be getting periods at 61.Good luck.

good morning Susanep.

Yes, whine/complain/vent all you like.

I too have a lot of dr. appts and am getting weary of them.

In the last month I have seen:

family dr. & eye dr & retina specialist & rheumatologist & gynecologist

some of them twice in one month. Besides being a hassle it is

a $60.00 co-pay for every specialist visit.

Now today it is a dental appt.    The fun never stops!!!!

I guess this will be my new social life now that I no longer can work.

Hope the weather and your health allows you to keep your next appts.

Take care and vent when you need to.....it's allowed here

So sorry your dealing with all this. So many of us have a multitude of issues..ughhhhh. I put off what I could in the winter, and now with the warmer weather, have to start setting up all these doc appointments, testing..its a full time job and very overwhelming.
I guess try to deal with the most urgent issue first and go from there. One day at a time.

Hang in there!

Dear Susan,

One thought about your cough:  There is a cough that is caused by laryngopharyngeal reflux...reflux that goes up into your throat at night and is 'silent': You don't feel the burn necessarily.

Just a thought.

My heart goes out to you, and I'm glad you have your little Bonnie to care when you leave and wait for your return.  Our animal friends are so amusing and comforting.  And sometimes a bit frustrating.  My cat Max goes up onto my dresser and starts pushing everything onto the floor when he wants his treats!

I got through my Endocrinologist appointment as did my hubby. He is doing good. Dr. told me my adrenal glands are not working, and though I am taking pill for thyroid I have enlarged thyroid.

I had to leave more blood to be sent off, and go back in two months. He put me on prednisone.

Thank you for all your encouragement and love.
I have been resting a lot.

Hugs to all, and my prayers are with all of you going through same thing of all the frustrations.

Susanep, I bet the Prednisone will help you to feel better!  It tends to know whatever flare is going on back out of the way, and get things back on track.  I hope
you start feeling better real soon!!  I am glad your husband is doing better.  It is so frustrating to be going through so many problems at the same time, hang in
there, and know that soon things will turn around!!
Thinking of you!!
