Am moving from my hometown to be closer to my children.  Going to a metroplex is a nightmare.  I learned today I must have a referral from my PCP + my rheumatologist's records to be accepted as a new patient at Dallas Diagnostics Associates.  The Dallas Rheumatology Group has disconnected me from 3 of the 4 phone calls I have left today.  (That was my first choice.)

I have an appt to see my PCP on MONDAY in my current hometown, she must fax my request for records from my current rheumatologist, and THEN she gathers all info and sends to the above group.  (The rheumy's office states "we can't refer as we are specialists."  I don't even understand that statement.

I cannot find one individual or small practice at all in the entire area.  Couple that with asking about specializing in Sjogren's and it's a shot in the dark.  I was told it was much simpler if I hadn't been diagnosed and already treated.  Does that  make sense?

There are two university groups here, and neither answer their phones.  You leave a message and they get back to you within 24 hours.  Seems strange.  I am beginning to understand why so many complain about their doctors.  I am almost tempted to keep coming back here for my appointments but it will be 250 miles....500 miles round trip!!  Gads.   Who knew?  I surely didn't.

If any of you knows someone, please share.  I'll take Grapevine, Frisco, Plano, Dallas, Denton....not Fort Worth.

Thx everyone.

Dr. Ho Bing Patrick Oei. He's great! Computerized. The day after getting your labs done, you can check them online.
I miss the good old days. Things were more like they used to be back then.

Thx lighthouse,
It isn't a matter of "finding" their names or where they are located.  It's finding an office which actually answers the phone.  I have spent ALL morning calling about 6 practices and the person bloodless recommended.  (Also in a practice).  (when I say practice...I mean GROUP.)  At least this one will call you back!!  What an ordeal.  That first one was the one that got me.  So strange.
THX to  both of you!
