No, I haven't but I hear Life Extension is a good company.  Hopefully someone else can help you.

I take Omega-7 and I use Life Extensions brand, called Provinal. It is a purified form or Omega-7.

I started taking it July 10, so I am not sure I have taken it long enough to produce effects yet. I can tell you that I feel better and the residual hip pain I was having is pretty much gone, but the decrease in hip pain was more likely a result of increasing my SAMe dose and adding Magnesium in May 2014.

I have read that Omega-7 decreases the CRP levels. It also decreases Total Cholesterol, LDL Cholesterol, and Tryglycerides and raises HDL Cholesterol. Also improves Insulin sensitivity.

I started taking it mainly to try to improve my Cholesterol levels. Any decrease in inflammation is also welcome.

I will post if I have good results on lowing my Cholesterol levels (which I should know in September).

Jasper thanks for the response.. I have been having so many aches in the past month and was reading about the benefits of Omega 7. I also think part of all this crazy stuff is menopause I am 54 and had a hysterectomy in 2006 but kept my ovaries.

I have labs from my Rhuemy every 90 days and am actually am due next week and will mention it to him all the aches but his usual response is Prednisone.

Thanks,

The anti-inflammatory supplements that I take are Super Bio-Curcumin, Boswella, and Floe-Assist Probiotic. I also take SAMe which is for my Osteoarthritis pain/joint pain. I take Krill Oil and Bio-collagen with UC-II 40 for my joints. I also take several antioxidants. I know the Curcumin is helping a lot and I believe the SAMe is also helping a lot.

I feel so much better than I did a year ago that I hesitate to change anything I am doing for fear I will regress. I had major problems with stairs (due to pain), pain in hips with walking, difficulty getting up out of a lower chair due to pain and muscle weakness. Now, I still have a little pain with stairs but walking and rising from a chair are no problem now. The pain is almost totally gone with those activities, if present at all.

My Rheumatologist is fully aware of all of the supplements I take and any changes I make in them. She is fine with me taking the supplements I take and is interested in knowing which ones I think are effective.

I also fully research everything I take as well as the recommended dosages. Some drugs, like SAMe, you have to be careful with because SAMe has some similar effects that some prescription drugs have, so that one has to be careful with SAMe if one is taking certain prescription drugs.

I am trying to control symptoms with the supplements. However, if I get to the point where I need additional prescription drugs, I will take them. It is just that I am very leery of some of the prescription drugs because they have such bad side effects. I already have enough problems withoput adding more, LOL. So far my plan of action seems to be working.

Hope you find relief.

Jasper,
I tried taking turmeric supplements but have had heartburn with them. Do you get heartburn with Cucurmin?

Thanks,

No, I do not get heartburn with the Curcumin I take. I take Life Extensions Super Bio-Curcumin 400 mg capsules. I always take the Curcumin on a full stomach, with meals.
