Going AWOL again!

Hi 

I am having a good spell. Retirement is suiting me. As far as thyroid goes I am running 'hyper' but that is also suiting me. Last year was tough - with the broken arm. It is still not right but it is tolerable and it has made me re-evaluate my pain scale. Certain aches and pains, though irritating, have been downgraded in my head!

On Wednesday my younger brother will be 60. I haven't seen him for 15 years. He lives in Johannesburg, South Africa. I live in England. On Thursday I booked myself a ticket to SA and I fly tomorrow. I have booked accommodation in a guest house not too far from where my brother lives. He does not know I'm coming. My sister in law does.

I have never been to Johannesburg before so it will be an adventure. 12 years ago my brother and sister wanted me to take a holiday in Italy for my 50th Birthday. I couldn't face the idea of travelling. I couldn't imagine getting my head round organizing and packing for a trip.
Good spells are good - so I'm taking advantage of this one! I may flare when I get home but doing this just feel 'right', even though I am going alone.
