Hi Sharon,

Before I take any supplement I check it out with the National Institute of Health.

The NIH funds almost all of the basic research in this country, and is headquartered in Bethesda, MD.

Medline is one source with information from NIH.

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/natural/929.html

You will also get The Office of Dietary Supplements:

http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/VitaminD-HealthProfessional/

You can find out exactly what benefits do exist, may exist, may not exist, and definitely do not exist.

And any problems with the supplement.

There's a lot of crap out there for sure...I take lots of supplements, but they are specific vitamins/minerals, or food supplements like turmeric or fish oil - simple, time-tested ingredients. And I check everything with my doctor (many of the supplements were recommended by one or another of my docs).

People will sell you ANYTHING to make a buck...
Sjogren's, Lupus, Raynaud's, APS
Fatigue, Brain Fog, Autoimmune Hearing Loss, joint/muscle pain, dry mouth, clots in retina, etc
GF, "semi-Paleo" diet, Supplements, Plaquenil 400mg/day, Aspirin 325mg/day (for APS), Methotrexate 7mg/2x per week, Prednisone 3.5mg/day

Oh yes. I run anything I take over the counter by my doctor first.  My doctor sure wishes his other patients would do that!

You'd be surprised the number of people who do not do this or even read the pamphlet that comes with the medicine.  :o  I always read it, especially the side effects and allergic reactions.  When I was younger I never though medicine from the dr might hurt you until I developed a rash from one that I about itched my hide off with. Never again.

PS: My mother loved grapefruit and that with High BP med is a no no.
