Productive rheumy appt.

Well I've always thought my rheumy was marvellous but my appt. this week confirmed it.
Since I'd last seen him I'd gone downhill rapidly and also experienced new and strange things.
I was nervous before my appt. as I was worried he wouldn't take the actions I thought would be necessary.

Firstly I got the answer to my feeling horrendous and past the point of coping-my thyroid levels were wildly out of wack so my meds have been adjusted (with everything else I forget about that diagnosis!)

Secondly he is very concerned about my leg pain and nodules and has ordered a biopsy. He says inflammation of the blood vessels has led to the inflammation in my skin-sounds like he is saying vasculitis (which my neurologist said was the cause of my leg neuropathy back in January)

Thirdly he has ordered a CT abdomen to check on my lymph nodes as I have enlarged nodes elsewhere and am experiencing pain and fullness in my upper abdomen.

So a lot to take in and the realisation that things are happening to me. He mentioned he would be adding to my meds so I'll see which ones though I'll fight tooth and nail not to go down the pred route. I'd rather take the other drugs!!

I'm not going to get myself worried until we have the outcome of the tests then I'll deal with that. I'm just so glad he has done what he has as that is what I would've liked him to do.

It's so easy to forget a condition when it hasn't bothered you for a while isn't it? I hope your thyroid gets sorted soon. Thankfully, I don't have that problem - and count myself very lucky. I know how miserable it can be though.

I hope you feel better soon. And that you get answers to your other health questions.

I am so glad that your appointment worked out well. A good rheumatologist can make a world of difference to us.
