My heart is broken, my favorite author has passed away.  Bummer!

Best-selling Twin Cities author Vince Flynn dies of cancer at 47:

A bad day overall.  First my Aunt called to give us the news that her lung cancer is back for the third time.  Not looking good.  I love her so much!  She's in so much pain.

Then the credit card company called us back about a disputed charge we had filed with them.  It looks like our card has been compromised, so we will be getting a new card tomorrow.

Vince Flynn is from my neck of the woods. He is from the twin cities area in MN. I have seen him on TV and heard him interviewed many, many times on the radio on national radio and twin cities stations. He was such a nice man.

I heard one interview where he told how he got started and it was so awesome. Did the college, marines and a good job but wanted to write. He finally took a job in a 7-11 or some such service industry working notes. He got to write during the day. His first book was turned down by 60 publishers and he decided to self publish. He delivered the books to the book stores in the twin cities area and it soon made the best sellers list. From then on he has written one book a year.

He has been to Washington DC to the pentagon with several other writers (Brad Thor is one, I believe) and these authors played "war games" with the military personal to help them plan new strategy in war fair dealing with the terrorists. Vince and these other authors are and have been an important part of our countries defense. If you get a chance to read some of these books I think you will be amazed at the in depth descriptions they give of terrorists activity.

Vince will be truly missed. He was a good, kind and honorable man and I wish his family peace. Irish

Sorry Lighthouse, I only read the first part about Vince Flynn and I was upset about it.

Now I see that you have an aunt with health issues. I will keep her in my prayers as well as you and your family. This continues to be a year of "issues"  that tax our souls. Hard to take so much health problems in ourselves and our immediate family and then add more health issues with our other relatives. Good luck and hugs. Irish
