Watch Out for Flying Objects!

I purchased one of those bladeless fans.  It arrived today and I proceeded with the set-up.  I locked the loop into place and turned it on.  With this brand you just touch the base to move the fan forward and backward to adjust where the airflow goes.   I do this and the loop came flying off!  I tried to catch it but couldn't.  It landed on the floor in two pieces.  It was so loud that both mom and dad who were napping came running.  Thank goodness no one else was standing there, they could have been injured.

I thought for sure that it would be broken.  But I put back together the two pieces and made sure the loop was indeed locked into place, turned it on and it works.

Can't wait to get it upstairs and try it out tonight.  It oscillates and has a remote

I think I know the brand you mean. I have thought about getting one but held back because they are pricey. But, if it provides more power  and cooling than a regular fan I might just go for it. Let us know how well it works.

Dearest Lighthouse:

When I remember all you went through with your parents, and see that they are still going strong, I am amazed!

I don't know anything about this sort of fan.

I hope to learn more.

Carolina,

Yes, it is amazing isn't it.  Dad had a recurrence of his lung cancer this past October.  He finished up chemo and radiation by the end of the year.  His latest most recent PET Scan showed him clear of cancer.  Woo Hoo!

Unfortunately, he developed an atrial flutter and had to have a cardiac ablation early this month.  It didn't turn out as well as we had hoped.  The ablation to the upper chamber of the heart was successful, but they found two separate areas of abnormal heart beats in the lower chamber.  Some were able to be fixed, others were not because they were too close to other areas of the heart that had suffered previous damage.  It's been two weeks since and he still has two to three more weeks of recovery to go.

Let us know how you like the  fan...I had thought about getting one too.  If it doesn't turn out to be a good fan, maybe we could make a wonderful flying toy and sell the idea to a toy manufacturer in time to get rich by Christmas!!!!   ......I know, I hear it all the time, I need a life ::)
