Hi everyone I have been experiencing going from cold to hot for the last couple of weeks I have had some kidney stones removed and I have a stint in for at least 3 weeks and I have to have in there for another 2 weeks due to I still havent passed some of the fragments. But the real reason I am writting is the cold and hot thing I dont know why I am doing that I go from extrem cold then I will wake up all sweaty and my hands have been hurting alot too I think it is the RA that is causing them to hurt.

So I am hoping that someone could tell me about the hot and the cold thing and what I can do about it pls

thanks

Oh bratt..I am so sorry. I have autonomic neuropathy which throws my temperature OFF so badly!   I do know that getting my hormones straightened out years ago, at least took care of that, so I could eliminate that. I always suggest some bloodwork..be it hormones....or anything else that the doctor could think of like thyroid. From there...it is crossing out one thing at a time. Everyone here is GREAT and I am sure they will come along with really good advice for you!!!!!!

I am not sure why this is happening to you. I wish I had an explanation.. Sorry your going through this. And having three young ones is hard to handle with an illness like ours..

I get the freezing cold to roasting hot thing too.  The hot is so bad that I feel like I am going to combust, then the cold is weird because it makes my skin feeling like it is getting freezer burnt or something.

It has gotten better since the neuro and rheumy got together and started me on imuran.  I have suspected autonomic neuropathy.

I know how miserable it is.

Sorry to add that I, too, have this much of the time.  Not all of the time, but enough to be a real pain.  All evening I have watched tv wrapped in a blanket.  I decided to bite the bullet and NOT turn up the thermostat.  It is 73@ in here and that should be warm enough.  (I live in Mich and it's turning cold right now from 60 yesterday to 13@ tomorrow morning.  No wonder my body is confused.

At night, I usually sleep in summer type pajamas as hubby is a virtual heating pad.  Or, if I am cold before going to bed, I wear my summer pj's plus long jamas over top so that if I do become hot, I just have to pull off the long bottoms. I hope you are not sick with infection or anything serious.  Lucy

I have this all the time..I know most of mine is hormones..menopause issues..some Im sure is related to Sjogrens though.
Sometimes at night, I get so cold..I sleep with my heating blanket on high, even in the summer, while other times Im very warm.
Every day/night is different for me..
