Hypercalcemia?

My rheummy's ARNP called and said my blood calcium levels are too high. Anybody else get this and know the cause? Thanks for the info!

It's been awhile, mine were high at one time, then low.  I think it may have had to do with a hysterectomy, but that is just my thought.

This can be caused by so many things. The main thing is to make sure to do what the doc says. Having a low or high calcium level is something that can't be ignored. Irish

It can indicate parathyroid problems. But you really need to get it checked out and treated! An endocrinologist is a must.

I was thinking parathyroid too. There is a really good thyroid forum at About.com. There may be parathyroid info there too.

My dad had hypercalcemia for a while and they thought it was due to a parathyroid tumor, but they never found anything and it went away on its own. For a while he was pretty sick though.
