Ashy Woman   ;D    I believe you got this one right.  We are Files to disability examiners.

I have read on here several times about keeping a journal to document how work is affected.  I think I am going to o that, but never did.  That is until tonight.  I stopped in the middle of reading this thread to start my documentation.  It was a 3 day work week.  I was able to work 1/2 day and that was a miserable 4 hours.

Good luck to all in pursuit of disability, now and in the future.

I was sent to a psychiatrist of some type and my disability is for my eyes and vision.  The test was simple and had nothing to do with mental illness or my eyes.  he asked me who the president was and the past president.  Spell "crowd" and then spell it backwards.  A few more nonsensical questions that neither proved nor disproved anything either mentally or physically.

I know they farm out their business to anyone who will take it the cheapest on contract.  I've heard someone being sent to a chiropractor and their disability was not near a chiropracter's scope of treatment.  I just figured go along and do what they ask, unless something rings a bell that you shouldn't comply.  This was in this man's tiny house that I interviewed and there was a grand piano in his "office" which was nothing but a bedroom or living room of his house. It gave me the creeps.  Glad I had my grown daughter with me.

Acer, YES, keep a diary daily.  Be specific.  I'm doing this right now as I will be applying soon.  My application will be for Primary Sjogren's "only" (ha) with complications.  So the diary/journal is Key for listing complications and specifics about how those affect you.  Be prepared for the docs to take you to the bank on copying fees for records.  I'm finding they generally want $10 to $20 for the first batch then charge .25 to .50 per page after that.  What a racket.  My lawyer gave me forms to take to docs but it specifically states at the bottom of the request form "Bill patient" for charges.  So I'm putting money aside as I can and collecting all this on my own.  Am also scanning everything and saving on a USB.

You'll need everything you can get, even if it was only a 1 time doctor visit.  I'm also collecting all my dental records as I have had triple-mega dental problems which are only getting worse (another complication of Sjogren's).

If your drs know it  is for a disability case they are only allowed to charge a set fee.if they are sending a copy to SSA then there is no charge 4 them being sent (this is of course is making sure that they are received which you have to stay on top off)alot of drs that you have a good relationship with will do them for free if they know you are involved with disability.I get a copy of my rheumys stuff yearly just to keep track and make sure I can keep track.
