Went to the consultant for follow up last night. He said I have Sjogrens no questions and will pass me on to the best opthomologist in Manchester for she and she will pass me onto her favourite rhumatologist. So here I am dry eyes (that don't like drops), dry nose, reoccuring thrush, hot flushes, carpel tunnel and blepheritis .... And urticaria, thanks life!

Sorry to hear that you're struggling, but it is good that you got a diagnosis so that you can start treating this terrible thing. I hope that you do find some good doctors that are willing to help!

I am almost completely certain ;);););) that you will improve and cope with appropriate treatment. St least you are on the right track for doctors and treatment!

There are drops that have no preservatives so they don't sting so bad. You might need steroid drops for your eyes too. There are plenty of things to do for thrush. In your mouth? If so you need liquid diflucan, some mycelex which I think is available in GB, some tea tree oil toothpaste when your mouth is calmed down enough it doesn't burn, a good and likely expensive probiotic to take three times a day for now, and some nystatin trouches or jellies if you have a compounding pharmacy or druggist. That is what I had to to get rid of mine after my terrible outbreak.

You will feel better!!! At least a bit anyway. Hugs!

Hi Gem  :)

If you ever feel like talking in 'real time' there is a UK hosted chat on sjogrensworld at 7p.m. om Wednesday evenings.

Your reaction sounds totally typical of those getting a definitive dx. We go to doctors to get better - right? Instead we get a 'label'. Usually we go through a period of grief with all the emptions that go along with it. Most of us do eventually reach 'acceptance' though but it can take a while.
The opthamologist will be able to help the blepharitis and hopefully the rheumatologist will be able to alleviate symptoms too. As well as the OTC preparations for thrush (I always find the tablet the most helpful) have you tried inserting a tampon covered with natural yogurt? It can soothe and eating yoghurt can help too. (Live and no sugar)

Take care - Scottie  :)
