who takes these for dry eyes? do they help and if so do u take them apart from fish oil??? thanks!!!

brooklyntina

There are studies that say omega 6's in excess of certain amounts can cause diabetes and other issues so I stopped taking it :(

i didnt know that.... did it help your eye dryness when u took it???

I'm not sure...with everything we do most improvements are subtle or incremental. I think the plaquenol and sea buckthorn oil are helping. I also gave up caffeine and booze. :(

I do take ALA which helps my breathing and that's an omega derivative. There is also a pill that is omega 3-6-9 in the proper levels. But remember most people get lots of omega 6 in there diet (I think a lot of cooking oils fall into this category but don't quote me on that.)

Anyone else confirm this about omega 6 being risky? I could swear I heard it here first...

plaquneil hasnt helped my dryness at all..and my rheumotologist says it wont.. i am so confused..but after 2 years it hasnt helped dryness at all

how much sea buckthorn oil to take?? i heard about it on dr. oz.. was curious how much to take for dryness??? tanks!

Ha! I heard about it the same way- on this board actually but referencing Dr. Oz.

I buy it from sibu and I am using their skin stuff too bc I have roscea apparently (took an opthamologist to tell me that!) around my eyes and elsewhere. I would love to find another source as it's a little pricey. I do think it's helping a bit but I also just started plaquinel and I basically overdose on Omega 3's out of desperation. It's hard to tell. My eyes are much worse than my mouth or other dryness (ummm hello!) I had a very stressful few years that have calmed down a bit finally. That's helping with some symptoms but not others. The darn disease seems to float! Anyway, hope this helps. I just take one pill a day but the bottle says to take 2.

I take alot of evening primrose oil and noticed it does help with the dryness. I take around 2,000 mg a day, apart of my fish oil that is in my hydroeye dry eye supplement.
