Officially Off Methotrexate for good : )

Well I tried to stick it out despite all the dreadful side effects - but my liver decided it did not like MTX at all! Because of the rise of my liver enzymes - my Rheumy took me off Methotrexate.  So.....I guess its up to prednisone and celebrex to help me survive this crappola. I can't take the other family of meds because of a positve TB test eons ago.  My Rheumy wanted me to take that medicine you need to take for TB prevention and then I could be approved for Enbrel or something like that - but the medicine for TB prevention is hard on your liver too! Ugh.

Hi Artsy,

I don't know what to say other than I am so sorry for your problems with medicines. I understand as there is very little i can take as my body doesn't like anything... Plaquenil caused my hair to be devoid of color... very strange I tell you, and Pilocarpin makes me sick to my stomach so I stay curled in a ball a couple times a day...
Hope your liver behave now that your off the meds.
