Question regarding Cataract Surgery

I had my right eye done the 19th and the left done the 31st.  I experienced a lot of pain with the
right eye for 3 days - then it subsided.  The left one hasn't been as bad . . . just very uncomfortable.  I felt like I was just a big baby but my doctor said he expected me to have more difficulty since my eyes are so extremely dry. I took Tylenol rotated with Advil for the pain.  Then yesterday the Advil did it's number on my gut . . . the old dreaded ulcer pain.  I'm back on the carafate and GI cocktail along with my normal 2 Nexium daily.

My question is . . . why am I so fatigued.  I mean fatigued with a capital 'F'.  Has anyone else experienced this?  I feel so pathetic with all my complaints.  Please forgive.

BLESSINGS!

Hi Jorja,

I would imagine that you are in a flare due to the stress of the surgeries. Hopefully it will resolve soon and you will be back to normal! I am sorry you had such a difficult time but have heard from others the same things. Keep the faith, it will get better and rest. It is okay to rest! Take care of yourself so this will pass soon,

Prayers for you,

I had cataract surgery about 4 years ago. A true blessing for visual acuity. Especially for regaining night vision.

I recall being very fatigued afterward, way more than I expected to. Sorry the pain is so bad for you. I don't think mine was that bad.

During the year following the surgery, I was absolutely appalled at the number of cobwebs and amount of dust in my house. And I don't have very high standards!

One thing I can say, is that being able to see more clearly has made day to day tasks less taxing.  It took a while for me to realize that my energy has probably improved due to better vision.

Lots of omega 3 helps me.  I hope this difficulty soon resolves for you.

Age 61; Blood type 0-; Sjogren's Dx 2005, sero-negative; plaquenil, 200-400mg/day; lunesta; vivelle dot; omega3, 4gm/day; CoQ10;  vit D3. Wheat free; dairy free. Homeopathy and acupuncture help enormously.

I'm glad your feeling better. I think sometimes we underestimate how much our body needs to recover from surgery and for healing.
