Regardless of content, NO chemical facial mask or treatment should cover the eyelids unless it's a specific RX for that area. Professionals cover the eye with some form of eye pad or cotton ball before even applying masks to avoid any contamination.

Skin with rosacea is particularly sensitive to irritation, and Benzyl Peroxide is an irritant. Additionally, many of the PP&S masks also contain Aceticalcylic acid, which is very irritating. The acne caused by rosacea isn't the same as general acne, or even cystic acne, and usually is treated differently. The skin is treated much more gently, and products used are of the calming or soothing variety rather than harsh cleansers.

This is a homemade soothing mask that I've found helpful (copy and paste to your browser, and type www. at the beginning): ehow.com/way_5805792_homemade-mask-rosacea.html

Hi valene2009!  I suffered with roasea and SjS for several years. Then when I hit menopause, the roasea disappeared! My skin is still very sensitive and turns read easily, but the thickness and cysts are gone. Of course, you can't hold your breath until you're as old as I am! ;)

While I was dealing with it, most of the typical roasea medications were too harsh due to the SjS. I took doxy during really bad breakouts, but the rest of the time used all-natural products. I'd suggest skipping the benzyol peroxide and sulpher masks. The are VERY drying. Also avoid anything with menthol and peppermint. The sun is usually an enemy too.

I frequently mixed honey and flaxseed oil for a gentle, moisturizing face wash. And I'd wet a chamomile tea bag, apply it to bad areas and lay back for 15 minutes.

Good luck, dear!
