Since I started a beta blocker my sleep is awful. Sometimes when I lay down I get shortness of breath and/or just plain insomnia. I think the Evoxac might be interacting with it but I don't see a way I can come off it, I'd be miserable. I'm in such a bad mood and am so dry since I I've started Metroplolol. I hate being on all these meds. When I tell my doctor how I feel she says it shouldn't have that side effect. Tired of doctors too.
33 years old. Plaquenil 200mg (2x), Evoxac 30mg (3 x).

Hi Drylady,

Sorry your feeling so bad. Maybe ask a pharmacist about the meds/combo and see what they say. If it is the meds, the pharmacist could speak with your doctor. Doc's just don't know it all.... Feel better!

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well.

My doctor said that for people who are dry, many medications will make them drier, including heart medicine.

It's like reading about the side effects for drugs.  Many may not be a problem for a normal person.  For a person with a chronic condition, a particular side effect will almost invariably affect them because of their vulnerability in that area.

I do think that being very dry can result in insomnia.
