OK, this is totally random and off topic, but I know we have some teachers and writers here...

My friend is a school librarian/author/blogger in Texas. She reviews Young Adult Fiction, and has a column in the El Paso Times. I contribute book reviews occasionally.

Today she has won Best Blog  at the Texas Library Association convention. This is not just schools, this is ALL of the libraries in the state! Texas libraries have a major influence in publishing and purchasing, which extends to other states as well.

I am really REALLY proud of her.

Also, as a guest reviewer, I have to toot my own horn a little...

My most recent review is a few books down, called "Thou Shalt Not Road Trip."  I write about one a month. You can search for some of my others, including "Icefall," "Forbidden,"  After Obsession," "The Lovely Shoes" and "When She Woke" (adult, not young adult).

Congratulations, Meow, to you and your friend! I will pass her blog to some friends who are teachers! Thanks for sharing,

COOL!! I liked your review of the road trip. Sounds like a great book, too! I'm a retired elem teacher from Texas. I still love reading children's books, though I've been unable to read very much in recent years.
