infected cysts on leg and chest

Anyone else have these?  It's been 4 months since my last Rituximab treatment so I don't know if they are related to that (or the increased MTX since last month)

I saw my GP and got a week's worth of antibios - plus a bonus: a week off MTX!  However, the pain is excruciating!  Like being stabbed with needles in a burn.  Walking and driving make it worse so I think I will put comfy jamas on and sit with feet up,,,,   

Anyone got any homegrown cures they swear by?  I have a feeling it is something my Granny would have put a bread poultice on but I'm not sure what they are!!  Ailsa xx

That sounds awful, and so painful. Are you diabetic? Have you seen a vascular doctor - I saw one recently, and know they deal with lots of ulcers.

A thought about home remedies - have you considered a poultice of live yoghurt? I remember a district nurse telling me that the bacteria sloughs all the yuck from the ulcers and helps them to heal.

Very interesting.  I was treated with Rituxan infusion for lymphoma of the lacrimal gland last year. In October I started having eye pain and swelling.  I had a second biopsy today thinking the lymphoma had come back and the surgeon found cysts!  He drained them all and even with surgical swelling the eye is smaller and I've gotten some good relief.  And I look like I've gone 9 rounds with Tyson.

I think I dodged the lymphoma bullet but what the heck are the gland cysts?  My surgeon is quite intrigued.  He's sent everything he collected for testing.  I hope my rheumy has some insights too.

If the cysts are encapsulated I would use tea tree oil.  It truly does have a analgesic affect. It totally gets rid of any bug bite itch and pain from cuts and scratches.  I swear by it.  Just a thought.  Another idea would be a cold pack or ice rub.

I had put these 2 "cyst" stories together so was interested to see that cryme a river had responded to this post.

My question is: are these cysts related to the sjogrens or are they a precursor to a lymphoma??? Also, does a person get the cysts and then get a secondary infection "just because" or is it because people with autoimmune disease get more infections.

How many people with sjogrens are having cysts show up on their bodies??? This could be the beginning of some important medical information. I am anxious to hear what how the reports come back "crymeariver". IRish

Without giving away all the gory details, it has now broken the skin and left an oozing hole about 2 cms across so I think I will be back at the Dr tomorrow to get it checked out ... Will let you know how it goes.  xx Ailsa

Perhaps it is more of a boil (sp?) which tend to get infected.  I've had true cutaneous cysts and they never got infected and were tough to remove.  I needed surgery on two of them.  I also get boils on my inner thighs for some reason. Ugh.  And the armpits when I use deodorant.  I've switched to a crystal salt stick instead of deo.
