Evoxac felt like sea sickness....

I already am challenged by mild dizziness.   I took my first Evoxac the other night with food and within five minutes I felt mild nausea and very dizzy...like on a boat and sea sick.   I could walk but my head felt SO high and not in a good way.   
I took another pill with my breakfast the next day (yesterday) to see if it happened again and it lasted even longer.   Luckily I was off work yesterday.

Six years ago I had gastric bypass surgery and anything that goes in my tummy hits that intestine and is super reactive.  (Like if you sip wine or beer you get incredibly drunk..so I don't do that..especially with my dizzy thing).

So hear I am...a singer and now no Evoxac.  This morning it feels out of my system.
Just wanted to share.   : )

I had that reaction to the pilocarpine and was VERY hesitant to take Evoxac until Cheryl told me that the medicines are very different. I took the Evoxac and am wildly pleased with the result.

You might try the pilocarpine. But maybe ask the pharmacist to only give you a trial of two or three so you don't have to pay for a full prescription only to toss it in the trash.

Also, take one before bed and one early morning when you get up to go to the bathroom.  Hopefully, you will be sleeping through the worst of nausea.  But, will still get benefits of medicine and hope effect goes away.

I too had vertigo, nausea and vomiting with Pilocarpine. It did not happen till day 5 on it.

I heard a ringing in my ear first, then the 'sea sickness" hit.

It lasted all night and I had to see my GP and I got a shot of phenergan, a prescription for Anitvert (meclazine) and one for valium (diazepam).

My GP and rheumy said that it very well may have been the Pilocarpine. I never took it again and it has never occured again.

But as you can see...others had good results with no side effects.....how different we all are.

Evoxac and pilocarpine are the only meds so far that I have reacted to (besides sulfa).  About an hour after taking them, I got horrible stomach cramps, cold sweats, tunnel vision for about 20 mins.   And then I'd have more saliva.  But it wasn't worth it.  I had the same reaction to both of them.

When cellcept controlled more of my symptoms, the dryness decreased, so I'm in a reasonable place now without them.

As eye2dry said, most people do not have bad reactions to these, at least not to both of them.  Rudytudy, I think your post is bringing us naysayers out on this one!
