New to diagnosis-plugs in my eyes

Greetings All,

Been so miserable with severe, severe dryness for more months than I am willing to count. Cornea's stripped, sores in my mouth. Obviously I knew something was wrong.

I was diagnosed officially with Sjogren's on January 31, 2012. So much has happened since then, February went rushing by with a lot of testing and visits to various doctors. I had temporary plugs put in my eyes 2 1/2 weeks ago and permanent plugs put in this past Friday. AMAZING! Once in a while I actually have a tiny bit of moisture that collects in the corners of my eyes. The Salagen has kicked in and helps with moisture in my mouth. Finally, a bit of relief from the horrible dryness.

I love my eye plugs, too. Look into Plaquinel, too. It makes a difference as well with energy. And Biotene.

Treatment does help, doesn't it?  I remember, in the beginning, having sores and a huge ulcer in my mouth because I was so severely dry.  My eyes are  0 and 2 on the Schirmers and I was just miserable.  With treatment of Evoxac, fish oil and Restasis, the dryness is much better and bearable.  My motto is rest, don't stress and rest some more.  I think it helps more than anything.  I, also, feel the sooner we accept the new normal the easier it becomes.

Yes, I am thankful for treatment I have received and the doctor's that work WITH me.

My mouth was so dry it was like I was licking a chalk board and then it was like licking concrete. I drink water, water, water, water. So thankful for the Salagen and now, the plugs. I also have Raynaud's ... thankful for fun wool socks and my electric blanket...oh, and gloves.

I get results from all the blood tests next week. I feel like I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the results.
