I began taking 1 gram about a week and a half ago along with my food at lunch and am having dizziness and an upset stomach, also ive read it can lower your blood pressure from which I suffer - does anybody know how to minimize these side effects? I heard taking Vitamin E helps - Id appreciate input on this from you guys :D ------ (this is the second time im trying to take fish oil - last time I only lasted a week hehehe )

Hmmm.. I take 4 grams a day with no trouble. I also take Vit E though.... but haven't always done that.

I have tried on and off for years to take fish oils- just can't handle the nausea following no matter what time of day I take them or with any other supplement. I do tolerate flax seed oil really well when I use it as a salad dressing or drizzled over vegetables. It also has useful amount of omega 3 to combat inflammation.I also have problems with low BP and find the flax doesn't set that off either.

thanks Jellyb,
I take the Vit B complex adult gummies and I've been dying to know what the fish oil gummies are like!  Great, I'm going to buy some.  Is there a particular brand that you found were "less fishy"??

Hi Gold,
My daughter says the brand is Critters omega 3 gummies. They have a yellow cp on the bottle and are mulit-colored

You might try taking them at night. Don't take them on an empty stomach.

Thank you everybody for replying ! I do read your posts but take a while to answer back - Im so sorry !

I will be trying those gummie bears - meanwhile my body finally accepted - somewhat - the fish oil - so the dizinness has faded a bit -

I cant say the same for my stomach - this will sound gross but the gases are just real bad !!!

Any suggestions?  (im sorry - blushing - embarrassed- ostrich like head under the earth hahaha)

I can't handle the fish oil. I started taking flax seed oil capsules instead and don't have a bit of problem with them. If the gummies don't work, you might consider switching too.
Good luck!

I take Fisol brand fish oil. The capsules are enteric coated so they don't dissolve until they are further along in the digestive system. I never have fishy burps or gas from them and I never had nausea. I take one in the morning and one at bedtime. I get them from the Medco store online, which is the company that manages our long-term meds program. My daughter (14 years old) also took fish oil with DHA for a mood disorder. I asked a pharmacist at Wal-Mart if there was any alternative to the huge capsules in a product that would have DHA. She sent me to Natural Way. They have a brand that in child and adult doses comes in small gel capsules and they have them in strawberry and lemon flavors. She never had any problems with them either. I hope this helps.

I could not tolerate any OTC fish oil, but the prescription drug Lovaza works fine.
