Well, I guess my mom did very good with her book "Letters to Ida". She sold just 980 paperback copies.

Warmwaters, I like your suggestions for titles. The first book that I have at the editor now was written for love not money. The second of the series of three is being put together for the same reason. The first was over 20 years in the making. I hope the second is only a year.

The difference between selling books and not selling books is marketing. writersweekly.com has great advice on how to do that.

That's great for your mom, Joe. I hope the one I'm helping out with does that well.

BTW,  those ideas I jotted down were ideas for sections or chapters.

Hope your book goes great too.

The actual "manufacturing" of the book is pretty easy these days - there are self-publication tools like lulu or createspace (and others) that have schemes that let you create books, upload them, and then either generate hardcopies that are sent to you, or which can be ordered through amazon.com.  I say easy, thought you do need someone knowledgeable about word processing to actually make the files.

You can also create "electronic" versions of books that could read on Kindles, Nooks, Ipads and so on.

I am excited by the idea of this kind of project, but I think we would need a way to organize this that probably is not on the Sjogrens World Forums, or perhaps in a private space on Sjogrens World, as some people are very cautious about revealing their identities, either because they are caught up in the legal system of disability, or haven't told their employer (etc., etc.).

HMMMM.... Not sure what to suggest
