been taking ambien since last january-1 eye drier since May??? help

this is probably not related to ambien but wantd to make sure.. i began taking it in Jan 2011.. My left eye (always my worst eye) really got bad around May-had cautery in Aug-and has been worse since-daily ext dry while right eye got better...

Just wanted some opinions--its prob just the sjogrens right? moving around ?  if ambien were making me drier wouldnt it have started after being on it a few days or at least weeks?  adn not 5 months later?? also i would think my right eye would be drier too and in fact the right eye barely uses drops..

i would love some input on this? is it probably just due to sjogrens?

i took ambien years ago after I had the shingles and it only worked for one hour for me. i do know that dry eyes is a side effect of a lot of medicines.  Have you goggled it?
Primary SJS, dRTA, Osteroporis, OAB, stage 3 kidney disease, hypothyroid and high blood pressure.  Medicine I take are plaquenil, bicarb, prolia, synthroid, toprol and amolipine, citracal and vitamin D.  I use Arex and Azasite and Prolia.  I also have Reynaud's and osteoarthris of the toes

yea i dont thnk its the ambien cause i dont take it nightly.. also i just figured out my left eye gets drier after i do warm compresses so i may start to do them at night. i think its aggravating my ocular rosacea--oddly only in the left eye-my worst eye.thanks

I think for sure that one eye can be worse than the other for any number of reasons.  My left eye is much worse than the right.  I had Lasik surgery and my left eye was just about scrambled and is painful with low vision 12 years later.  My right eye does not hurt as bad.  They both have zero Schirmers also.  I hope you can find out your problem soon.  Lucy
